The primary aim of our organization is the imparting of knowledge for development which can only be achieved by bridging the gap to information access.

In order to end the cycle of poverty in the rural areas of Kenya and to preserve human dignity, education is indispensable as access to achieve quality education would strengthen community capacity for driving the development agenda

The schooling access made possible by the Kenyan Government is commendable, but sadly government effort does not commensurate to the expected education outcome as reviews report and it is evident that rural schools are at a disadvantage relative to urban schools.

This is primarily due to the poor access to learning materials in rural areas needed to facilitate education, leading to a large cohort of young people

However, working with host communities, since 2008, Rural Reading Centers Africa has facilitated the opening of seven Community Reading Centers in 7 of the 47 Counties of Kenya.

RRCA started with two pilot reading centers which have grown to seven with each center having over 3000—7000 volumes of books ranging anywhere from nursery rhymes to university level books, with each reading center hosting upwards of 50-160 students per month, all in an attempt to curb the challenges faced by these rural communities.
